Hi all,
Not a question per se, but something I thought might be helpful for others.
It is a registry file that removes Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 or 10 mouse pointer acceleration. It is like the CPL Mouse Fixand Cheese Mouse Fix, but gives exactly 1-to-1 mouse to pointer response for Windows 7 or Windows 8.x or Windows 10. Exactly 1-to-1 means no discarded or delayed mouse input while game playing. You're best off using an external mouse and then reinstalling the touchpad driver if it's a notebook. If it's a desktop, unplug the mouse and plug it back in.
I wanted to get my Magic Mouse (first gen) working with my Windows 10 laptop with Bluetooth 4.0.
- downloaded the latest version of the latest Boot Camp drivers from Apple's support site: https://support.apple.com/downloads/bootcamp
- Unzipped the file into a new directory and then opened BootCamp --> Drivers --> Apple --> AppleWirelessMouse64.exe
- Ran the installer
- Turned on Bluetooth and paired my Magic Mouse
- Apr 30, 2011 The mouse movement did not change at all since 8.1, I've had this fix applied long back into the insider preview and even ensured it worked on the 8.1 profile - it was fine.
- A secondary download location for the MarkC Mouse Acceleration fix for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10. Download MarkC Mouse Fix.NOTE. 1000hz on an AMD Phenom x4 965 I can pull 8% CPU usage with the mouse. Assuming modern CPU's can handle any refresh rate is a myth, test for yourself, lag spiking during a firefight is not a good idea.
- The Cheese Mouse Fix gives exactly 1-to-1 mouse response for Windows XP and Windows Vista. The MarkC Mouse Fixes give exactly 1-to-1 mouse response for Windows 7 & 8.x (Note: Both fixes need the Control Panel 'pointer speed' slider set to the 6th, middle position to give exact 1-to-1.).
The mouse works fine - left and right click works as does up/down & left/right scrolling.
Hope this helps someone looking to do something similar!
